Joe Urli is a highly accomplished aerospace and defence leader with over 35 years of experience spanning advanced aviation, unmanned systems, and emerging space technologies. As Chief Certification & Compliance Officer at Fait Corporation, Joe leads regulatory strategy and compliance operations for the company’s next-generation autonomous systems.
Joe’s career reflects a rare convergence of deep technical knowledge, regulatory mastery, and strategic leadership. He has held senior positions across global corporations such as Boeing, General Electric, and Rio Tinto, as well as pioneering roles in startups including Airobotics, RipperCorp, Hypersonix Launch Systems, and Fait Corporation. His leadership has consistently delivered world-first regulatory approvals—from BVLOS drone operations to hypersonic testing platforms—driving innovation without compromising safety.
Formerly President of the Australian Certified UAV Operators Association, Joe was appointed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia to serve on the Strategic Aviation Industry Consultative Council (SAICC). He has contributed to national and international regulatory frameworks, including engagements with NASA’s Airspace Operations Safety Program (AOSP), and holds certification from the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. Joe is also a long-standing member of the Airbus Star Program.
